Dear Parents,

Thank you for giving us this week to roll out our plans for masks in response to SB739. The Virginia Department of Education released these guidelines on Friday evening that include encouragement for us to allow parental choice, and a reminder that since we received federal covid relief funds, we should follow the CDC guidance on masking. We set our policies based on the most up to date science and evidence based practices that are also in line with the wishes of our community.

With that, we ask that you please fill out this survey. We are not requiring that you share any identifying information, however, if you do, your answers will be kept confidential within the admin team:

Masking Preference

Please answer this question as if your child was eligible to wear a mask. We understand that children under the age of 2 cannot wear masks, but we would like to gather the data about our community. Please note that indoor, universal masking for staff and visitors will remain in place for the time being.

Outdoor Masking

Studies have proven that there is relatively no risk of transmission outdoors, even when community transmission levels are high. Please answer this question about masking outdoors with children, staff, and parents in mind.

Our Mod Pizza Fundraiser Participation was the best we’ve ever had at a Family Night Fundraiser!!

From the bottom of my heart, thank you. It was so cold that day! It was in the middle of the week! But you all SHOWED UP. Common Ground always shows up and makes any event we have memory worthy, and we love you for it. Also that pizza was ridiculously yummy. Did your kids try any new toppings? Did you have fun?

Our next Family Fundraiser Night is at Noodles and Company on March 9th from 4-8PM! Same deal, you just show up, say you’re from Common Ground, order your favorite noodly meal, and skip cleaning your kitchen for an evening while supporting your school!
