Handling Allergies at Common Ground
Common Ground’s Intensive Plan of Correction – Post Student Allergic Reaction to known allergen on August 18, 2023
Serving Order for Children with Know Allergies: Our official policy has been updated to direct teachers to serve children with known allergies first when possible. If it is not possible to serve all children with allergies first, they should be served last
Serving Special Snacks/Treats:
a. all ingredient lists will be checked by two staff members, including at least one admin, and any allergens will be identified and the list of students that cannot will be gone over verbally and written.
b. Special snacks/Treats will be served separately; after regular meals
All staff will take at least one (1) hour of training that specifically goes over food allergies every two (2) years they are employed
Summer Seasonal Staff will have specific food allergy training at the beginning of each summer they are employed
